Miami Dolphins 2021 mock draft: Wide Receiver, Center in round one
The running back position is an interesting one for the Miami Dolphins. They traded a day three pick for Matt Breida during the draft in April and signed former Bears and Eagles back Jordan Howard. Breida has been effective in limited touches, while Howard has just 14 yards on 18 carries. Myles Gaskin has been a good player out of the backfield as a receiver, but having a more well-rounded player makes sense.
Keaontay Ingram has been vastly underrated so far as a 2021 NFL Draft prospect. He’s a tough runner between the tackles, shows off great contact balance, and is a good receiver out of the backfield.
While this pick feels like a broken record after getting Richie Grant earlier, filling the cupboard isn’t a problem this late in the draft. Joey Blount would be a great fit in the Miami Dolphins defense. He’s great at reading the quarterback’s eyes, excels blitzing and making plays near the box, and has a high football IQ. Seeing Grant and Blount battle in out in camp would be entertaining.
To round off this mock draft, the Miami Dolphins add some interior defensive line depth in Khyiris Tonga.
Davon Godcheaux might be gone after the season, and finding another two-gapping run-stuffer behind Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis would be solid here. Tonga brings the brute strength and effort to the table and should find a home on some roster.
