Rebuilding the New York Jets with a three-round 2021 NFL mock draft.

The New York Jets are an absolute mess and do not appear anywhere close to winning a game. In fact, it is difficult to imagine this team even winning a single game until head coach Adam Gase gets fired.

Gase has been a disaster in New York and his days are clearly numbered. He has helped ruin the development of quarterback Sam Darnold, and while the roster that has been given to him is not overly impressive, Gase has done nothing to help them move forward. He is clearly a sitting duck and the New York Jets will be looking for a new head coach over the offseason.

While there is not much for Jets’ fans to be excited about at the moment, that could easily change over the offseason. Due to their expected poor record and the Jamal Adams trade, this team is going to be loaded with 2021 NFL Draft capital. They will also have plenty of cap space to work with in free agency.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas is an extremely respected talent evaluator and he will have an opportunity to remake this team however he wants next offseason. By this time next year, we should be looking at a much different New York Jets roster, one that could easily be headed in the right direction.

In this mock draft, Douglas and the New York Jets hold the first overall pick. Moving on from Darnold seems logical if this situation plays out, but how would they build the roster around their new franchise quarterback? Let’s take a look.
