TRADE: Giants trade QB Daniel Jones to Bears for 2021 3rd-round pick, conditional 2022 pick
It’s definitely too early to close the book on Daniel Jones, but as far as the New York Giants are concerned, you can’t pass up on the chance to acquire Trevor Lawrence.
The intent to pick Lawrence puts a damper on Jones’ potential trade value, but the Giants should still be able to get something pretty nice for him. How about sending him to Chicago, where the QB position is extremely unsettled at this point?
The price in the trade can be debated, as can the landing spot, but the point of this exercise is to look at a scenario where the Giants would pick Lawrence, and that would almost certainly involve Jones’ departure.
As good as Lawrence is, you simply cannot pass on him. He’s got every tool you could ask for and he’s way advanced for a player his age.
He’s a franchise changer.
