TE. Penn State. 17. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pat Freiermuth. 32

The Arizona Cardinals are making strides with Kyler Murray, Kliff Kingsbury, and now DeAndre Hopkins as the brain trust of the offense.

How can this unit get even better to keep up with the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams?

The Cardinals need a playmaker at the tight end position. I’m sure they would love to see Kyle Pitts sitting here, but Pat Freiermuth would not be a bad consolation prize.

Freiermuth is a mountain of a target in the passing game, but his movement skills, short-area quickness, and leaping ability are off the charts for a guy who is 6-foot-5, 260 pounds.

Even if he’s not the first tight end off the board, Freiermuth is going to provide TE1 type value to a team like the Cardinals at this juncture of the first round because of how good Kyle Pitts has been and how high his value is right now.

Freiermuth still has a season to play to raise his value as well, but right now, this seems like the perfect range for him and a really solid fit.
