Atlanta Falcons 2021 NFL Draft Need #4 – Defensive Line

This is a broad spectrum, but the entire defensive line could use an upgrade for the Atlanta Falcons. Grady Jarrett has been a bright spot and Dante Fowler has had his moments, but as a whole, the defensive line could use an upgrade.

Some of this is once again because of potential free agents that could leave the Falcons at the end of the season. Both Takkarist McKinley and Charles Harris are in the last year of their deals. McKinley is still on his rookie deal, but the Falcons recently parted ways with Vic Beasley who had a similar skill set to McKinley.

Beyond the two defensive ends that could become free agents, the Falcons need to add a running partner in the middle of the line for Jarrett. They drafted Marlon Davidson in the second round this past year, but adding another to the rotation could help keep fresh legs on the field.

While defensive end will be a bigger need than defensive tackle, an addition at either position would be helpful for the Falcons moving forward. It isn’t a top need necessarily but could be a great mid or late-round selection if the right player falls to them.
