Let’s note a few honorable mentions from this NFL Draft class who have also made some impact as rookies so far.

The Carolina Panthers have had more rookies than Chinn make an impact so far for the defense. Derrick Brown and Yetur Gross-Matos have flashed ability rushing the passer and could help form a very good defensive line with second-year standout Brian Burns.

He just got put on IR, but Dolphins rookie tackle Austin Jackson has been better than expected. Toolsy tackles that are projects from day one in the NFL are often a risk, but Jackson has looked fluid and strong in pass protection.

Chiefs rookie L’Jarius Sneed didn’t take long to make an impact, picking off a pass in his first game. He’s looked good in the transition at outside corner, staying in the receivers’ hip pocket when being tested vertically and has been competitive at the catch point.

The Broncos have gotten plug-and-play production from Lloyd Cushenberry III at the center position, and Michael Ojemudia has looked better and better when he gets chances to make plays as the boundary corner.

Cowboys rookie corner Trevon Diggs is as physical as advertised and has given some top receivers headaches in 2020 thus far. Diggs has easily been the bright spot on an otherwise dreadful Cowboys defense.

Next. Hokies RB Khalil Herbert is very exciting. dark
