1. Defensive Line

Looking over the Denver Broncos’ current roster and projecting forward to 2021, the defensive line could end up being a major area of focus in the 2021 NFL Draft, or maybe just in free agency.

If the Broncos decide to keep one or both of Shelby Harris or Jurrell Casey, this need gets pushed down the list significantly.

The Broncos just re-signed Mike Purcell, who has been a tremendous addition to their run defense. Shelby Harris is on a one-year contract and has once again out-played what he’s getting paid. The Broncos might want to keep him in the fold, but will the same be true for Jurrell Casey?

Casey played three games for the Broncos before going down with a biceps injury that landed him on IR for the remainder of the season.

With no dead cap on his contract, the Broncos could potentially move on with no penalty and if the salary cap is diminished at all, it might be a necessity.

It might be something where the Broncos feel comfortable keeping Shelby Harris instead of Casey, and they put a vote of confidence in Dre’Mont Jones and McTelvin Agim as the rotational defensive ends.

This need is dependant on how things are addressed pre-draft, but the Broncos could prioritize the defensive line anyway.
