Levi Onwuzurike. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Defensive Tackle. 3. 818. Washington

One area on the Dallas Cowboys that hasn’t made much impact in 2020 is the interior defensive line. Dontari Poe is much older, and Trysten Hill has yet to pan out. It’s important to watch what happens with the defense in the offseason.

If the 3-4 scheme persists, then it’s important to note that nose tackle won’t be a big need come the 2020 NFL Draft. That spot should be Neville Gallimore’s to lose, leaving a 4i technique spot up for grabs. Finding a player who can attack gaps and wreak havoc in the run game and the pass rush is important, and look no further in round 3 than Levi Onwuzurike out of Washington.

Onwuzurike plays mostly three-technique in the Huskies defense, but he’s shown so much promise already as a prospect. While he has just five sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in his last two seasons, Onwuzurike is quick off the snap and has great hand placement to attack gaps between guards and tackles. He’s got a strong pair of mitts as well and pushes the pocket when he stays low. More consistency as a rusher would help him rise up boards, but this would be a nice value for the Dallas Cowboys in round three.
