2021 NFL Draft: Seth Williams shows off against Kentucky
2021 NFL Draft prospect Seth Williams showed out against Kentucky.
The 2020 NFL Draft class was great at the wide receiver position, and nearly every team in the league benefitted from it. The 2021 NFL Draft class could be even better, especially at the top.
With so many talented playmakers at wide receiver all over the country, it’s easy for guys to potentially slip through the cracks a little bit, but it’s hard for really any SEC player to stay hidden for long.
Auburn Tigers wide receiver Seth Williams has been fantastic in his first two college seasons, catching 85 passes for 1,364 yards (16.0 per catch) and 13 touchdowns. He added to those numbers in the Auburn 2020 season opener against Kentucky.
Williams was always open for Bo Nix (no matter how tight the coverage was) catching six passes for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including this absolute gem:
Williams made some outstanding plays in this game especially in red zone work, not limited to this play. Check out his other touchdown in this game…
At 6-foot-3, 211 pounds, Williams is an athletic nightmare for defensive backs with his size, speed, and alpha mentality at the catch point.
He is always capable of creating separation with that size and leaping combination.
Combine. the size and leaping ability with his strong hands? Forget about it.
Watching through a number of Auburn games in 2019 while evaluating their offensive linemen or the opposing defense, Williams was a player who consistently stood out as a guy with NFL-level traits. He hasn’t gotten the hype of many other SEC wide receivers but that will undoubtedly change if he keeps turning in performances like this one.
If he keeps this up, Williams is going to go from a solid day two prospect to a potential first-round player in no time. He certainly has the physical abilities and strong hands, and if he can show consistency with this kind of production (especially in the red zone) he will be highly coveted in the Spring of 2021.
