2021 NFL Draft: The SEC is back in this 2-round mock draft
The New York Jets are going to have many different 2021 NFL Draft predictions between now and next April.
They certainly seem like a team heading for a top-five draft choice in 2021, and if that’s the case, will they move on from Sam Darnold at the quarterback position?
As crazy as that might sound, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
If Darnold is kept, it’s almost cruel to him not to pick Ja’Marr Chase here for the New York Jets, but this team’s needs (desperate ones) go far beyond just wide receiver.
Patrick Surtain II has the potential to come into the NFL as a legit CB1 and help a defense immediately, and the Jets could certainly use his skills on the outside.
Surtain is physical, long, and instinctive with the ball in the air. He can shut down his side of the field in man coverage and with another first-round pick and a high second-rounder later, the Jets could very well opt to take a receiver later on.
