2021 NFL Draft: The SEC is back in this 2-round mock draft
The Baltimore Ravens had the unfortunate reality of needing to let go of safety Earl Thomas, whose 2020 included some very bizarre off-field storylines and some out-of-character on-field storylines.
The Ravens no longer felt Thomas was a fit for their locker room, so they made him a training camp roster cut and are expected to pursue some of the guaranteed money Thomas was owed, a sign that the Ravens were really just not happy with what he had going on in 2020 at all.
With that said, the safety position could very well be addressed early on by Baltimore, and the big (6-foot-2, 202 pounds), rangy Trevon Moehrig of TCU could be just the ticket.
Moehrig showed his range in 2019 with four interceptions along with his 62 total tackles and 11 total pass breakups. He attacks the football in the air and just overall has great instincts when the ball is thrown.
He would be a nice fit on the back end of Baltimore’s defense.
