The Los Angeles Chargers are now building around Justin Herbert for the future, and although the team would probably love to have Herbert’s Oregon teammate Penei Sewell, they might not be picking high enough to get him.
Everyone knows that a quarterback’s best friend in the passing game is a tight end who is always open, and the Chargers know this well. Philip Rivers’ career was as good as it was thanks largely to the production of Antonio Gates.
Pitts could be the Gates to Herbert’s Rivers for the next era of Chargers football.
One way or another, it really seems like offense is the way this team has to go after building up their defense at all three levels for so many years and with so many premium draft selections.
The Chargers would be lucky to get an athlete like Pitts to either pair with Hunter Henry or replace him, as he is a dynamic weapon with a massive catch radius, natural movement in space, and strong hands.
