2021 NFL Draft: The SEC is back in this 2-round mock draft
TRADE: Bears trade 17th pick, 3rd-round pick to Atlanta Falcons
The Chicago Bears have started the 2020 season with a 2-0 record and Mitch Trubisky is obviously playing ‘for his life’ so to speak.
The 2017 first-round pick has been greatly overshadowed by the two first-round QBs taken behind him — DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes — and the Bears didn’t even pick up his fifth-year option with the inconsistency he’s shown.
Even with the Bears winning their first two games of the 2020 season, there’s reason to believe they would move on and move forward at quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, especially if a scenario like this were to present itself.
When all is said and done, the dynamic Justin Fields should be a much higher pick than 11th overall, but NFL teams make mistakes and let guys slide. The Falcons could stay put and take Fields themselves as the heir to Matt Ryan, but the Bears would be wise to try and make a move up in a scenario like this.
