2021 NFL Draft: The SEC is back in this 2-round mock draft
The Denver Broncos thought they had made the moves necessary to get the cornerback position at a place they might be able to set it and forget it for a couple of years.
The team brought in Bryce Callahan in 2019 as the projected nickel man, then they traded for AJ Bouye in the 2020 offseason to be the team’s CB1.
They had also held out hope for former third-round pick Isaac Yiadom, who ended the 2019 season as one of the team’s starters.
Yiadom was traded to the Giants, Bouye has been on IR since week one, and Callahan has played well but missed the entire 2019 season with a foot injury. The Broncos are high on Michael Ojemudia for the future, but the cornerback group is a position that could very well be addressed early in 2021, especially if they have a shot at Caleb Farley.
Farley is a big, physical ball-hawk at the cornerback position who had 19 pass breakups and six interceptions over two seasons with the Virginia Tech program. He could pair well with Ojemudia for the future in Denver.
