2021 NFL Draft: Five teams that are proving they need a quarterback

I want to believe that Gardner Minshew is the answer and long-term quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars and after the first two weeks of the season, it seemed like it might be possible. However, watching him against Miami forced a different opinion.
Falling to the 0-2 Miami Dolphins while not throwing a touchdown on Thursday Night Football is not a good look for someone who is trying to prove that they are better than Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields.
Minshew struggled in the game, especially when pressured, but that could be from a bad offensive line that lost their left tackle mid-game to an ejection. No matter the reason, having a long pass of 24 yards against one of the bottom tier defenses in the league isn’t a good look.
In addition to Minshew’s struggles, the backup Mike Glennon is on just a one-year deal and Jake Luton is a rookie that was taken in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
If Thursday night was any indication for what Minshew does when the spotlight is on, then his tenure as the starter could very well end when the 2021 NFL Draft begins. He will be under the microscope all season as the Jags attempt to Tank for Trevor.
