2021 NFL Draft: New York Jets find new franchise QB in NFL mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 7
Marvin Wilson is an ultimate interior disruptor who will undoubtedly be one of the best defensive prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft class. Wilson is a big and powerful man who can consistently man-handle opposing offensive linemen on the inside. His ability to anchor in and hold his own as a two-gap player is a top-notch skill and will undoubtedly translate to the next level. However, let’s not sleep on his ability to penetrate and create pressure.
Wilson is quick off of the ball and does a great job of getting thin and exploding through the gap. He shows impressive mobility for a big man and will undoubtedly make an impact as a one-gap penetrator at the next level.
Wilson is the kind of player who can fit in any system and come in and immediately thrive. Do you want him to primarily eat up blocks and hold his ground as a two-gap defender? You may be limiting his upside a bit, but he can certainly do that. Do you want Wilson to attack the pocket and wreak havoc as a one-gap penetrator? He can fill that role as well.
The interior defensive line stands out as a major position of need for the Detroit Lions and Wilson is a top-notch 2021 NFL Draft prospect who is certainly worth in this range. Wilson and Detroit feel like a logical pairing for this mock draft.
