2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 4

87. Pick Analysis. Justin Fields. 4. Ohio State. player. Scouting Report. QB

I am sure that the Carolina Panthers love Teddy Bridgewater and currently feel comfortable moving forward with him as their franchise quarterback. That being said, if they have a chance to snag a quarterback the caliber of Justin Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft, I have a hard time thinking that they will pass up that opportunity.

Fields is primarily known for his ability to change the game as a runner. While his athleticism and powerful running style is impressive, do not sleep on this guy as a passer. Fields has a big arm that he uses to fit the ball into tight spaces, shows impressive accuracy to all levels of the field and does a nice job of putting touch on his ball when the situation calls. Fields is a high-level passer who undoubtedly has tremendous upside at the next level.

His ability to impact the game with both his legs and arm makes Fields an extremely dangerous player at all times and a particularly interesting fit for the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are going to want to run a spread-out, fast-paced offense under offensive coordinator Joe Brady and RPO principles will be aplenty. Fields feels like the perfect quarterback for this offense and would give the Panthers a true franchise player to build around.

If snagging Fields is a possibility for the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft, they have to make the move. Bridgewater is a solid quarterback, but Fields has special upside that simply cannot be ignored.
