2021 NFL Draft: New York Jets find new franchise QB in NFL mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 32
Can the Kansas City Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl Champions? Well, at least in this make-believe scenario they do. Patrick Mahomes leads a well-oiled machine for the Chiefs on the offensive side of the ball and their defense has undoubtedly improved in a big way over the last year or so. This is an extremely talented team that is ready to make another run and simply sitting back and taking the best player available would make sense here.
Jaylen Twyman stands out as an exciting 2021 NFL Draft prospect in this range because of his ability to put pressure on the quarterback from the interior. Twyman is an explosive athlete who flies off of the ball with ease and consistently gets great upfield burst in the pass rush. He is strong, athletic and wins with a variety of pass-rush moves on the inside.
Twyman is a high motor athlete who will work hard on every play and he does a nice job of keeping his pad low and winning with leverage. His run defense needs some work, but Twyman is the kind of guy who you can stick in a three-technique and let him work as a one-gap penetrator immediately. Pairing him with Chris Jones would be incredibly dangerous for opposing offensive lines.
While his role may be fairly limited with Kansas City as a rookie, this team could undoubtedly find situations for him to come in and make an impact. Twyman is an extremely gifted interior defensive lineman whose long-term upside stands out in a big way in this range.
