2021 NFL Draft: New York Jets find new franchise QB in NFL mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 31
The New Orleans Saints are another team that is difficult to pick for, as their positions of need are few and far between. That being said, their linebacker depth is shaky and if the right opportunity presents itself, addressing the position would certainly make sense. Here, the Saints address their off-ball linebacker need with the addition of Nick Bolton out of Missouri.
Bolton always plays the game hard, consistently flying around the field making plays for his team. He is an extremely physical football player who will come up and lay the wood on a consistent basis. Bolton fills rushing lanes well, has impressive block-shed ability and tackles well in space.
He is not the most explosive athlete at the linebacker position, but Bolton certainly has plenty of speed to hold his own. He is a strong short zone coverage linebacker who also makes an impact as a pass rusher in the blitz game.
When it comes down to it, Bolton is a rock-solid football player who would fill one of the few holes on this Saints’ roster. Pairing him with Demario Davis in the middle of the field give New Orleans a dynamic duo at the linebacker position worth getting excited about.
