2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 18

18. player. 46. Miami (FL). Quincy Roche. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE

The Indianapolis Colts have put together a strong overall with few needs on either side of the ball. Sure, they will need to find a long-term franchise quarterback eventually, but this is a strong team that is set up to win right now.

In this mock draft, the Colts address their edge-rusher situation by bringing in Quincy Roche out of Miami. Roche is making an impact for Miami this season after shining at Temple for the three seasons prior.

Roche shows an impressive combination of length and athleticism on the edge, and is typically able to create pressure on the passer with speed moves. He is explosive off of the ball, shows tremendous upfield burst and can bend around the edge with ease. Roche also shows a quick inside move that always seems to leaves offensive tackles baffled.

Roche is an explosive edge rusher whose game is primarily built on speed. However, do no sleep on his physicality and toughness up front. He uses his length extremely well to set the edge and shows strong overall instincts against the run.

The Colts love to find quick and explosive players on the defensive side of the ball and Roche undoubtedly fits the bill. He is a talented and well-rounded football player who could bring immediate value to a potentially contending team in Indianapolis.
