2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 11

OT. Samuel Cosmi. player. Pick Analysis. Texas. 11. 45. Scouting Report

The Denver Broncos have invested heavily in the development of quarterback Drew Lock over the last couple of years, consistently finding him exciting weapons in the passing game. In this mock draft, they find Lock some more help, while also filling arguably their biggest need on the offensive side of the ball.

Garett Bolles is not getting it done at the left tackle position for Denver, and they should look to replace him next offseason if the right opportunity presents itself. Here, the Broncos find them in a position to find a potential upgrade at left tackle, as Samuel Cosmi is still on the board.

Cosmi is an extremely athletic offensive tackle prospect who consistently moves well in space. His quickness off of the snap is impressive and allows him to get in good positions as both a pass protector and run blocker. Cosmi mirrors opposing edge rushers extremely well and does a nice job of shooting his hands quickly to stun the defender. He is also an impressive second-level run blocker who can get out in space and consistently take care of his responsibility.

Cosmi is not the most powerful player up front, but he does a nice job of using his athleticism to get in position to beat the defender. He will struggle against pure power players at times, but he has the upside to deal with any speed rusher on the edge. Simply put, he is an extremely talented player who could fill an important position of need for Denver.
