With their second pick in the third round, the Jets go after yet another pass rushing option to go along with EDGE Carlos Basham and 2020 draft pick…oh, that’s right, they didn’t draft any pass rushers in 2020.

One of the reasons the New York Jets have struggled to find any sort of success over the past three seasons as they have ushered in the Sam Darnold era is an inability to consistently get a good pass rush on the opposing quarterback.

Pass rush is arguably the most important area of an NFL team outside of the quarterback itself. If you can’t rush the passer in today’s game, you’re going to get carved up.

Along with Basham, Rumph is one of the best pass rushers in the ACC even if his statistics don’t reflect it.

A much slighter player than Basham, Rumph is more of the speed, edge bending type of pass rusher, and he can give the Jets a huge boost.
