New York Jets 2021 mock draft: Time to re-set at QB?

1. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Let’s just say for the moment that the New York Jets get the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. How could it be anyone other than Trevor Lawrence?

If they finish with the worst record in the NFL, Sam Darnold will have played at least some part in that, and while the circumstances for Darnold have not been great in his first few NFL seasons, it might benefit both him and the Jets to have a change of scenery in this type of scenario.

It’s hard to imagine anyone one but Trevor Lawrence being the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft at this point.

Lawrence has tremendous accuracy from the pocket, but he can also make plays on the move as well and he’s shown over the past couple of seasons that he’s also really good as a runner in general.

Lawrence is the total package, and has felt like an NFL-ready prospect since he was coming out of high school.
