Could the New York Jets re-set at QB in the 2021 NFL Draft?

The New York Jets could find themselves at a very tough crossroads ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

If things continue on the trajectory they are currently going for the Jets, wholesale changes are pretty much inevitable. It doesn’t seem like Adam Gase is a great fit for the team as head coach, and his coaching methods have yet to take with the roster the Jets and GM Joe Douglas have assembled.

Is a quarterback re-set on the way?

You would hate to see it.

Sam Darnold was a tremendously talented prospect coming out of USC just a couple of years ago, and his career in the NFL is by no means buried at this point.

The Jets have inadequately surrounded Darnold with talent in his young career so far, and they finally have some pieces at least on the offensive line to help propel his career in the right direction.

If the Jets don’t improve substantially during the 2020 season — and there’s a long way to go — they could be in line for the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and potentially a head coach and quarterback change.

There would undoubtedly be suitors for Darnold in that case, and Jets fans probably don’t really want to think about that, but what if they play bad enough to ‘earn’ the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Let’s take a look at a four-round Jets mock draft scenario with a new QB coming to New York.
