2020 NFL Season: Key season ahead for third-year quarterbacks
Josh Rosen
What a crazy couple of seasons it’s been for Josh Rosen. After being thrust into the spotlight in a two-minute drill against the Chicago Bears, Rosen struggled in his rookie season around a bad roster. He shined against the Packers and won a big game, but under a new head coach, the Cardinals moved on from him a year later, selecting Kyler Murray first overall.
The Cardinals then traded Rosen to the Dolphins for a second-round pick, and he got a chance to prove himself with them. After a couple of modes relief performances and another season of facing drops and a tough roster, Rosen was again an afterthought with Tua Tagovailoa coming in. Now, he sits on the Bucs practice squad.
Rosen was very good with his accuracy and progressions in college, but in a league that favors quarterbacks who can make plays outside the pocket, Rosen was a prospect better suited for years past. However, there’s still a chance that he can learn behind one of the game’s greatest for a couple of seasons.
What does the 2020 NFL season hold for Rosen? It’s a year to learn under Brady and prove his worth as a backup who can be a spot starter. Many of Draft Twitter hopes he gets his chance.
