The top 2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch when Clemson takes on Wake Forest.

College football is back! After a bit of a taste the past couple weeks, the big conferences are finally getting underway. The ACC has conference play this weekend, led by games like Syracuse-North Carolina and Duke-Notre Dame. The headliner this week is, of course, wherever Clemson goes. They head to face Wake Forest in the night cap. This game should not only be entertaining, but it will feature a number of 2021 NFL Draft prospects. Let’s dive in with five to watch in this one.

Trevor Lawrence

Here’s the obvious one. Trevor Lawrence is widely regarded as the top quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft and will be the only one of the consensus top three to play a full season this fall.

Lawrence was named the starter after September back in his freshman season, and never looked back. He led the Tigers to a National Championship as a true freshman, showcasing what was to come for him down the road.

His sophomore season was met with gigantic expectations, and he fell a little flat. Interceptions and accuracy issues deep down the field led to a slow start, but a stretch of 20 touchdowns to zero interceptions got him back into that freshman rhythm. In the playoffs, he struggled against Ohio State and LSU.

Now, as more questions arise for Lawrence entering his junior year, he has the perfect setup to qualm the concerns.

The tools are there for Lawrence. His poise is immaculate, and he thrives maneuvering the pocket when there’s chaos around him. He flashes great ball placement, especially on back-shoulder throws and over the middle. Lawrence can make plays outside the pocket and on the move and still throws bullets on the money. He’s also a very good athlete running the ball.

If he cleans things up with his accuracy down the field, he will be unstoppable in the 2020 season.
