2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 3 (New York Jets, 2-14)

Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. LSU. 3. 30. Scouting Report. Ja'Marr Chase. player

Moving Jamal Adams could backfire for the Jets this upcoming season. I don’t think they know how much he did for the team. Because of that, I see them falling flat on their face this season and ending up with a top pick. Luckily, it will allow them to finally invest in a big-time offensive weapon for Sam Darnold to throw to in Ja’Marr Chase.

The Le’Veon Bell experiment hasn’t worked for the Jets and their top receiver is going to be one of Breshad Perriman, Chris Hogan or Jamison Crowder. They need a better target for Darnold to rely on.

Chase is another player that has opted out of the 2020 season, but his film is already enough for him to be one of the better players in the class. LSU dominated the 2020 NFL Draft and had Chase been in the mix, he would have just added to their first-round tally.

Placing Chase into the Jets offense will provide a reliable wide receiver for Darnold who can get open and then make plays after the catch. This would add a dynamic to New York that they haven’t had on the offensive side of the ball in a long time.
