2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 32 (New Orleans Saints, 13-3)

Jaylen Waddle. player. Alabama. 32. 15. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver

Here we are again. Two mocks, two times picking the Saints to win the Super Bowl. I’m doubling down.

In all seriousness, the Saints have so many strong pieces in place that even a mishap can be made up by one of the other players on the team nearly instantly.

One thing that they could look to add is a younger receiver. Adding Emmanuel Sanders was a move in the right direction to find a compliment to Michael Thomas, but witnessing what Sanders brings to the table and how it can open the field could push the Saints to explore a younger, more long-term option.

Jaylen Waddle would make back-to-back years of two Alabama receivers in the first round, but he is more than worth it. Waddle would bring a speedy receiver to compliment Thomas’ red zone abilities.

There’s no question that Drew Brees doesn’t throw deep as much as he used to, which is why Waddle would work so well. Sure, he is definitely a deep threat, but he can also be effective in slants and short routes as well. Thomas and Waddle with Kamara in the backfield and a stellar defense is the perfect recipe to prolong Bress’s career as long as possible.
