2021 NFL Draft: Bears land top pick in preseason 2021 NFL mock draft

2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 31 (Kansas City Chiefs, 13-3)
Yes, I still have the Kansas City Chiefs returning to the Super Bowl and I still have them falling short in the big game. Although Pat Mahomes and company can keep the Chiefs in games, it will ultimately be up to the defense if they can win the close ones.
On the defensive side of the ball, there are two places that the Chiefs could look to upgrade in the draft next year, being edge rusher and cornerback.
With the Super Bowl matchup I have projected, Kansas City doesn’t have a cornerback to defend Michael Thomas, which could force their hand in the draft process to take one in the first round.
Paulson Adebo hasn’t had a huge season at Stanford yet, but he has been consistent. He’s had four interceptions each of the last two seasons, despite only playing in nine games during the 2019 season.
However, the bigger stat that jumps off the sheet is his passed defended. Over just nine games last season, he still managed to have 10 passed defended after registering 17 over 13 games in 2018. That type of coverage is what the Chiefs will be looking for in the 2021 NFL Draft process.
