2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 26 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 12-4)

Defensive Back. player. 48. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. Shaun Wade. 26. Scouting Report

There is little question that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the firepower to compete at a high level this year, but can all the pieces work together from start to finish? With so many options, I have faith that Bruce Arians will find the right players to get this team into the playoffs.

With that being said, one thing that could hold them back, and is a position with few pieces to experiment with, is cornerback. If the majority of the roster returns next year, addressing the secondary will be a priority for this team and there should be plenty of options to explore throughout the first round.

Each year Ohio State produces top cornerbacks for the draft and the 2021 NFL Draft should be no exception. The delayed season in the Big Ten could hinder who steps up, but expectations are that Shaun Wade will be that player this coming season.

Wade only has four interceptions at Ohio State over two seasons, but he has logged seven passes defended which is enough for teams to look a little closer at him. If he can put together more tape if a season happens for the Big Ten and showcase his skills on a higher level, his stock should really rise.
