2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 18 (Arizona Cardinals, 11-5)

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 18. player. 32. Edge Rusher. Miami (FL). Quincy Roche

The final team to miss the playoffs, the Arizona Cardinals should be in the playoffs, but play in one of the most difficult divisions in not only the NFL, but in all of professional sports. For the third team in a row, the Cardinals have all the pieces for the playoffs, but just don’t make it this year.

Arizona has a lot of weapons, highlighted by new addition DeAndre Hopkins, but we said the same thing about the Cleveland Browns and Odell Beckham Jr. last year. The connection between Kyler Murray and Hopkins will be impressive, but it will take time to flourish, leading to them falling just shy of the playoffs.

With this pick, the Cardinals can look to improve a big need on the defensive side of the ball, the pass rush. Quincy Roche transferred over to Miami from Temple and can play anywhere on the line, which should fit well into the versatility of the Arizona defense.

His style of play fits into the schematic approach that we saw with the drafting of Isaiah Simmons in that he can do a lot of different things from various points on the field, all of which provide more options to create big plays on defense for the Cardinals.
