2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 17 (Pittsburgh Steelers, 9-7)

Creed Humphrey. player. Pick Analysis. Offensive Line. 17. 55. Scouting Report. Oklahoma

Like the Bills, the Pittsburgh Steelers are another team that is playoff-ready but just happen to miss it this coming year in my projections. The pieces are there, but in a tough division and even more difficult conference, they are left on the outside looking in.

With a pick in the middle of the first round, the Steelers will have the perfect opportunity to make a much-needed upgrade to their offensive line, or perhaps the better way to put it is to make the line younger.

Both the left guard and center positions could be improved one way or another in Pittsburgh and Creed Humphrey could play either spot. At 6-foot-5, 320 pounds, Humphrey has the size to slide into the left guard slot in Pittsburgh and help to shore up the line.

Other positions that the Steelers could look, depending on how the season goes, could be a running back or tight end. However, the way that Pittsburgh drafts, they know they can find playmakers at those positions much easier in the later rounds than an offensive lineman that can start week one.

To add to that list, quarterback could be a sleeper idea for Pittsburgh. Despite the backlash, they could do something similar to what Green Bay did last year. That should be a long shot though, given how close they are to being back in the playoffs.
