2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 11 (Jacksonville Jaguars via LA Rams, 5-11)

Defensive Back. Alabama. Patrick Surtain II. 11. player. 52. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

One of the other teams in the league with two picks, the Jaguars will be able to make a huge leap in their rebuild as well. After grabbing their quarterback of the future in Justin Fields, they can use this pick to help replace the player that brought the pick to them, Jalen Ramsey.

Jacksonville took C.J. Henderson in the first round last year and Patrick Surtain II is a solid pairing to line up on the opposite side of the field. With a 6-foot-2 frame, Surtain fits a similar mold as Henderson and should be what the Jags are looking for.

You might be asking though how the Jaguars get two picks in the first 11. Well, the Los Angeles Rams could take another step back this coming season. They have a lot of question marks surrounding their schematic approach this season and lack of a clear run game.

Additionally, their defense lost a decent amount of players and with few picks to fill those needs, because of trades like the one that sent this pick away, the Rams could be staring at an uphill battle for a few years before they are back to their Super Bowl form once again.
