Chiefs vs. Texans: Rookie standouts from opening night

Kansas City Chiefs Defensive Back, L’Jarius Sneed
The Kansas City Chiefs run a defensive set that uses a lot of defensive backs, so when they selected L’Jarius Sneed in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft it was expected that he would be on the field frequently.
However, an injury to Charvarius Ward forced Sneed onto the field even more and it resulted in his first career interception in the fourth quarter, catching a flailing pass from Deshaun Watson that was the result of pressure from Tyrann Mathieu.
The interception was just a sample of what is to come from Sneed while also being just a part of what he contributed to the game. In addition to the interception, Sneed was also able to register two passes defended on top of three tackles, all being solo.
Being able to produce in so many different ways on the defensive side of the ball will make Sneed very valuable to the Chiefs and allow them to use him frequently.
At Louisiana Tech, Sneed was known for making plays when needed, whether it be an interception, tackle or other contribution. He proved that those skills carried to the NFL by being in the right place on important plays all night. Chiefs fans should be excited to see where his career goes.
