Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 mock draft: Projections after the fire sale
The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to address the safety position here on day three, as the cupboard is bare at the position. After adding LeCounte, who is best deeper down the field and in man coverage, the Jaguars select USC safety Talanoa Hufanga here. Hufanga does his best work near the line of scrimmage as a physical tackler with good recognition in short zones.
At this point in the draft, it’s about finding players who could provide initial depth with the potential to become a starter. Tyler Linderbaum has a mean streak as an offensive lineman for the Hawkeyes but could use a little more time to develop to round out his game.
In a passing league, and in a corner room that’s very shallow, it’s important to have a good influx of talent. Adding Caleb Farley earlier is a big help, and taking a shot at Thomas Graham Jr. this late is worth it. While not the best athlete, Graham has good recognition skills in man coverage and stays very patient.
The Jacksonville Jaguars finish things out by adding another weapon into the fold to help Lawrence and company flourish. Reggie Roberson can be productive at the next level with his strong hands and ability to work vertically down the field.
To summarize, if the Jaguars do indeed mix things up within the organization after the 2020 season, getting Lawrence would be huge. If this draft comes to fruition, he’d have additions of Gainwell, Pitts, and Roberson added to Chark and Shenault. The offensive line would be boosted and so would the defense.
