Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 mock draft: Projections after the fire sale
Now that the Jacksonville Jaguars have Trevor Lawrence in the building, it’s time to add some more weapons around him in the passing game. Jacksonville’s tight end room is pretty barren right now. They brought in Tyler Eifert to help in both facets, and have a young project in Josh Oliver. But, having a true difference-maker would help.
Florida’s Kyle Pitts could be that difference-maker. Many analysts have Pitts as the top tight end in the class right now, and it’s warranted. Pitts lines up everywhere for the Gators, whether it be inline, out wide, and flexed at the tackle’s hip as a “wing”. He has the ability to stretch the field and is slippery as a route runner. He flashes strong hands and could create matchup issues for defenses. Pitts could use some work in the run game as a blocker, but he has the length and raw power to develop there.
One of the stronger areas for this Jacksonville Jaguars team is their offensive line. We mentioned Taylor earlier, and their interior group is solid. The one question mark right now is Cam Robinson at left tackle. He could be better suited to sliding inside, which leaves a bit of a hole.
Rashawn Slater has been one of the pleasant surprises from summer scouting so far. He held his own against Chase Young in their matchup last season and shows enough tools to warrant a second-round pick. He could be the highest Northwestern draft pick in quite some time.
