Washington Football Team: Early top positions of need for 2021 NFL Draft
Washington Football Team 2021 NFL Draft Need: Free Safety
The defensive line stands out as the major strength on this Washington Football Team roster. After adding star edge rusher Chase Young to the mix, this team is absolutely loaded with impact talent and depth up front. They have also done a nice job of finding interesting players at cornerback and linebacker in recent offseasons.
Landon Collins leads the way for Washington at safety, but they need to find him a capable running-mate at the position. Collins is a talented player who can make an impact in a variety of roles, but he is better when he is allowed to roam the middle of the field near the line of scrimmage. In today’s NFL, safeties need to be able to fill a variety of roles, but taking a coverage safety to pair with Collins would make the most sense.
The 2021 NFL Draft class is filled with plenty of interesting safety prospects who could make an immediate impact for Washington. Finding a true single-high safety who can also hold his own in man coverage is extremely important for this team and could be the missing piece to take their defense to the next level.
Possible 2021 NFL Draft Targets: Andre Cisco, Paris Ford, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Ar’Darius Washington, Jevon Holland, Richie Grant and Trevon Moehrig
