2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 15

Pick Analysis. Alabama. 15. player. 59. Scouting Report. WR. DeVonta Smith

Stemming from the Laremy Tunsil trade with the Houston Texans, the Miami Dolphins have two first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. After making a significant defensive addition earlier in this mock, they turn their attention to the offensive side of the ball here at No. 15.

The Dolphins have found their franchise quarterback and now they find him a playmaker on the outside, and one that Tua Tagovailoa is extremely familiar with. DeVonta Smith was one of Tua’s favorite targets in college and has the skill-set to be a big-time player at the next level.

Smith is a fantastic route-runner who creates separation with ease. He is quick and explosive, has solid hands and is a strong playmaker with the ball in his hands. The Dolphins could certainly use a receiver who can stretch the field and naturally make plays after the catch, and Smith fits the bill perfectly.

2021 NFL Draft Round 1, Pick 16

player. 52. Pick Analysis. Florida. Kyle Pitts. 16. Scouting Report. TE

With their second first-round selection of this mock draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars find their new franchise quarterback an offensive playmaker. Kyle Pitts is a dynamic athlete at the tight end position who has fantastic upside as a receiver in the middle of the field.

Pitts is a matchup nightmare in the middle of the field who is too quick and athletic for most linebackers and too big and powerful for most defensive backs. Most NFL teams are going to struggle to find a player who can match-up with him in man coverage, allowing him to quickly become a potentially big-time playmaker at the next level. He would be a great security blanket for a rookie quarterback like Trevor Lawrence and they could quickly grow into a dangerous duo.
