Cleveland Browns 2021 NFL Draft Needs: Wide Receivers

I’m one of the few that is confident in the Browns wide receivers this season, especially since they brought back Rashard Higgins. But with Higgins on a one-year deal and a lot of question marks behind him on the depth chart, the Cleveland Browns could be forced to revisit the position again next off-season.

Obviously the duo of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry is one of the best in the league, but the rest of the group has concerns. The aforementioned Higgins has proven chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield, but beyond these three the Browns don’t have any proven depth.

Taken in the sixth round out of Michigan, Donovan Peoples-Jones has the potential to be something on the offense.  In addition, the Browns have three players who have shown flashes in the past in Taywan Taylor, KhaDarel Hodge and Damion Ratley.

The reality around the league is that teams need three reliable receivers. If Higgins leaves and none of the other players have stepped up, then the Browns will have to look to the draft to add talent.

Again, as we’ve said with other positions here, wide receiver always has tons of depth in the draft. This is another late investment that makes a lot of sense for the Browns to look into.
