Tight End

Earlier this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran tight end Tyler Eifert to a two-year, free-agent contract. Eifert is a talented player who has plenty of upside as a receiver in the middle of the field. However, injuries have been a consistent issue for him throughout his NFL career and the chances of him stay healthy throughout the season are pretty slim.

The Jags also drafted tight end Tyler Davis in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Davis certainly has a bit of athletic upside at the position, but he is still just a sixth-round selection who will just be trying to make an impact.

Whether the Jags move forward with Minshew or draft a new quarterback, they are likely going to be looking to find some impact talent at the tight end position to help their young signal-caller. A good and reliable tight end can be a quarterback’s best friend and investing in the position would only help their young quarterback grow.

The 2021 NFL Draft class has much more talent at the tight end position than in recent years. With a ton of capital at the top of the draft, the Jaguars will undoubtedly be in a position to take advantage of this strong tight end class if they wish.

Potential 2021 NFL Draft targets: Pat Freiermuth, Kyle Pitts, Brevin Jordan, Charlie Kolar and Nick Eubanks
