2021 NFL Draft: 2-round mock draft using ESPN’s order prediction
Hunter Henry is playing the 2020 season on the franchise tag for the Chargers, and if he somehow gets away in 2021, there are way worse alternatives for the Chargers than Florida’s Kyle Pitts.
A great receiving tight end can be a young quarterback’s best friend, and Pitts is a guy who can cover up a lot of warts.
His insane catch radius and strong hands are enough to put him in the first-round conversation, but Pitts’ natural athleticism and ability to line up at any position on the offense make him a top 10 candidate.
The Chargers are banking on the development of in-house players at the left tackle position in 2020, but just in case it doesn’t work out, they could look to a guy like Michigan’s Jalen Mayfield, a first-round talent with day two tape at this point.
