The recent 2021 NFL mock draft by Pro Football Focus features quarterbacks coming quickly off of the board.

Let’s be honest, it is way too early for a 2021 NFL mock draft. That being said, we all love them and cannot get enough. We cannot take these early mock drafts too seriously, but it is a fun and interesting way to get to know the class and understand potential positions of need for the NFL teams.

Pro Football Focus joined in on the fun on Wednesday, posting their preseason 2021 NFL mock draft. We obviously have more unknown surrounding the event than ever before, but PFF still put together a fun and interesting scenario for us to talk about.

Unsurprisingly, the first two picks in this mock come at the quarterback position. Trevor Lawrence to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 1, followed quickly by Justin Fields to Washington at No. 2. Lawrence and Fields both stand out as incredible quarterback prospects and are likely the early favorites to go with the first two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft next April.

Not the only top-tier quarterbacks

Lawrence and Fields going off of the board quickly is obviously fun, but they are not the only quarterbacks to go early in this 2021 NFL mock draft. At No. 5 overall, the Carolina Panthers brought in North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance.

Lance is coming off of an incredible 2019 season at North Dakota State and has the physical skill-set needed to grow into a premier quarterback at the next level. He is a smart and athletic quarterback who has high-level arm talent and impressive accuracy to all levels of the field. Whoever ends up landing Lance is going to be ecstatic and the young Carolina Panthers stand out as an ideal landing spot for him.

Another fun pick in this mock draft is Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell landing with the Miami Dolphins at No. 3. Sewell is a tremendous offensive tackle prospect who would immediately come in and solidify the Dolphins’ offensive line situation. The Cincinnati Bengals snag star linebacker Micah Parsons with the fourth pick of this mock, giving them an exciting young player to build their defense around.

Next. Marvin Wilson is the top defender in the 2021 NFL Draft class. dark

It may be too early to take these mock drafts too seriously, but make no mistake about it, the 2021 NFL Draft class is filled with exciting young talent at the top. This class is loaded with talent at the most important offensive and defensive positions and NFL teams should be excited about the possibilities.
