3. Brandon Smith, wide receiver

A 6-foot-2, 219-pound receiver out of Mississippi, Smith is sort of a rare talent for the Hawkeyes to have at the wide receiver position in the Kirk Ferentz era.

Not only is Smith a dynamic athlete, but he’s a big-bodied receiver with tremendous skills at the catch point and after the catch.

The Hawkeyes have not had a wide receiver drafted since 2012, but Smith-Marsette and Smith will certainly change that.

Although Brandon Smith has shown some dynamic playmaking ability, his opportunities have been somewhat limited by the Iowa offense. Another year and perhaps more explosive plays on tape could have substantially elevated his 2021 NFL Draft stock.
