Eastern Michigan – Terry Myrick, Linebacker, Senior

Maxx Crosby, an Eastern Michigan product, is garnering more and more attention as a rising star in the league at his position. The success of the 2019 draftee could very well cause more NFL teams to take a closer look at Eastern Michigan for the next player to follow his path. If they do, Terry Myrick is someone that should frequently come up.

Listed as a linebacker, Myrick has the ability to fly around the field and be where the ball is. During the 2019 season, he finished third on the team in tackles with 89, but it was his ability to stop the ball in the backfield that will make him an NFL draw. Myrick was able to pace the Eagles in tackles for loss with 7.5 while adding two sacks to his line as well and forcing a fumble in the process.

Myrick’s ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage is a key asset to find in the draft. Being a player in the MAC, there’s a chance he could be a low risk, high reward selection, very similar to Crosby who went in the fourth round. While it might take a strong senior season to get that type of consideration, everything could pan out well for Myrick to make that leap.
