Toledo – Bryant Koback, Running Back, Junior

As I’ve said, the MAC this coming season could be a hotbed for running back talent. This is the fourth running back to make this list and there are plenty of others that didn’t get included. The final one added to the list is Bryant Koback, another back with two impressive seasons already under his belt.

We’ll begin with Koback’s freshman season in 2018 after he transferred from Kentucky following the 2017 season. In his first season with the Rockets Koback led the team with 917 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, which was tied for the second-most in the conference for the season. Even with a solid season, it didn’t match up to his sophomore campaign.

In 2019, Koback again paced the Rockets’ rushing attack, totaling 1,187 yards on the ground, the fourth-highest mark in the MAC, which was enough to receive consideration for the Doak Walker Award and be named a Second Team All-MAC selection. The icing on the cake for Koback might have been his 73 rushing yards and a touchdown against his former school Kentucky, despite the Wildcats getting the win.

If Koback can continue his consistent player in the backfield for the Rockets then the NFL consideration will come. He plays a position that is often overflowing with talent, but anything he can do to set himself apart from the competition will obviously help.
