2021 NFL Draft: Top prospects to watch for each ACC team
By Kyle Edmond
Syracuse – Andre Cisco, Defensive Back, Junior
Already receiving notice around the NFL and in most mock drafts, Andre Cisco is set for a big season in 2020. A preseason First Team All-American, Cisco is being considered the best safety in the country by many.
Entering the 2020 season, Cisco is currently the nation’s active leader in interceptions with 12 while being second in passes defended per game with 1.27 behind just Stanford’s Paulson Adebo. Cisco is also in the Syracuse record books for career interceptions, placing him fifth heading into the season.
A 2019 second-team All-ACC selection, Cisco was also able to contribute in ways that were beyond tracking down balls, although that is the core of his value as a safety. Totaling 68 tackles, Cisco finished fourth on the team for the stat, averaging 7.2 tackles per game which was fourth among ACC defensive backs. He also was credited with a forced fumble and a fumble recovered.
The amazing part is that the 2019 season was considered a down year from his freshman campaign. During 2018, Cisco was the ACC’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and received All-American consideration in some form from most platforms while being a first-team All-ACC selection as well.
