New York Jets three-round 2021 NFL mock draft after Jamal Adams trade
A brand new 2021 NFL mock draft for the New York Jets after the Jamal Adams trade.
The New York Jets were finally able to get rid of their disgruntled defensive star when they traded safety Jamal Adams to the Seattle Seahawks over the weekend. Adams is undoubtedly one of the best players at his position in the entire NFL, but he had made his intention to get away from the Jets well-known. Luckily for New York, they were able to get a strong package of picks for him.
In the deal, the Jets send Adams and a 2022 fourth-round selection to the Seahawks in exchange for first-round picks in 2021 and 2022, a third-round pick in 2021 and safety Bradley McDougald. Losing Adams obviously hurts their immediate ability to compete but giving Jets general manager Joe Douglas these extra draft picks could pay off in a big way.
As we look forward to the 2021 NFL Draft, Douglas and the New York Jets will now have two first-round, one second-round and two third-round selections. This extra draft capital will allow the Jets to adequately surround quarterback Sam Darnold. On the other hand, this trade could give them the draft capital needed to move up and replace Darnold if he struggles to establish himself as their franchise quarterback during the 2020 season.
No matter which direction the Jets decide to go, they are now one of the most interesting teams to keep an eye on throughout the 2021 NFL Draft process. Let’s try to predict what they will do with a fun little three-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team.
