2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch: PAC-12 Conference
By Kyle Edmond
Utah – Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Junior
After having a conference-high seven selections in the 2020 NFL Draft, Utah will look to replicate that success entering the 2021 NFL Draft. The top player on the list to help achieve that? Devin Lloyd.
The Utah defense was strong last season, being led by Bradlee Anae and Jaylon Johnson. However, it was Lloyd that paced the team in tackles with an impressive 91 stops. Lloyd also totaled 11 tackles for loss, which finished second on the team behind just Anae, who ended up being drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth round.
Lloyd was also second behind Anae for sacks on the year, registering 6.5 during the 2019 campaign. Lloyd also added an interception to his line.
With Anae now in the NFL, there’s a strong chance that Lloyd could lead Utah in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks in the upcoming season. If he can reach those numbers, he should the attention of NFL scouts in a hurry.
Most players can do one or two of those things well in terms of leading the team, but if he can do all three, then he becomes a steal for any team that can add him to their linebacker corps.
