7. Chicago Bears: Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

*Projected trade with Bengals*

The Chicago Bears actually had the no. 12 pick on this order initially, so Pro Football Focus thinks pretty highly of their overall roster (higher than I think) with probably a heavy weight towards the defensive side of the ball.

The Bears brought in Nick Foles this offseason to compete with Mitch Trubisky, their top pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and that has lit a fire in Trubisky’s belly.

Even with that being the case, Trubisky has not shown the type of development through the early portion of his career to warrant a long-term investment, and even if the Bears win in spite of Trubisky this year, they could be heavy in the market for QBs in 2021.

Enter Trey Lance, this year’s not-so-mystery man at QB.

Lance is the latest in a line of fine QB prospects to come out of the NDSU program, including Carson Wentz and Easton Stick.

Lance is a dynamic type of player with the ability to beat you with his arm and his legs, and NDSU uses him as a runner quite a bit. That didn’t translate to many mistakes last year, though, and Lance racked up around 4,000 yards of total offense without a single interception.

This guy’s talent is through the roof.
