4. Carolina Panthers: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

The Carolina Panthers are quickly looking like one of the potential favorites around the NFL to contend for the top overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

PFF’s roster rankings have them pretty close.

In this mock draft scenario, the Panthers get a little bit lucky with the Washington team going offensive tackle and the Miami Dolphins already having a quarterback, leaving Justin Fields right there for the taking.

Fields broke out in the 2019 college season as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, lighting up defenses as a pocket passer and proving he can be just as frustrating to defend as a runner.

Fields running the Panthers’ offense with all of their weapons in the passing game and running game would be a lot of fun to watch.

All due respect to Teddy Bridgewater, if the Panthers are picking this high in next year’s draft, plenty of that blame will likely fall on him.
